Clairemont: The Village Within The City
A suburb located in Northern San Diego, Clairemont was developed in post-war San Diego during the 50's. It was originally called "The Village Within The City" in 1951. Comprised mostly of single family homes, duplexes and apartment buildings, Clairemont is a diverse community that stretches from the bluffs over-looking Mission Bay all the way East to the 805 freeway. Clairemont was novel in that its development was the pre-cursor to the modern suburb. With commercial use built into the overall plan of the community, Clairemont has a thriving commercial sector to serve the residents.
One can find elegant bay view homes next to starter homes and everything in between in this community. Home values remain affordable and there are varying options for move-up buyers. Situated about 10 minutes from Downtown San Diego, Clairemont is close enough to take advantage of what the city has to offer, but also far enough out to have a feel of its own.
