Little Italy: Old World Charm In San Diego
Originally an Italian fishing community, Little Italy is a thriving and diverse place in San Diego. Nestled between Downtown and Mission Hills sits a wonderful neighborhood that is still in the middle of everything, but with a slightly more mellow atmosphere. Filled with galleries, boutiques and eateries—Little Italy is a wonderful place to stroll during the day or a happenin' spot to hang out at night. With a plethora of community events and happenings, Little Italy is an active participant in the San Diego social calendar.
Do you like to take in the local farmer's market? Well Little Italy has one of the best in all of San Diego County on Saturday mornings. From fantastic gelato to incredible pasta and a wonderful atmosphere, Little Italy is among many San Diegans favorite places to spend their time. Comprised of mostly condos, many of Little Italy's residents haven incredible views of the San Diego Bay and Airport. Some describe the atmosphere here as Old World charm, but I tend to think it is Old World charm mixed with a Southern California twist.
Little Italy is a fantastic neighborhood to visit and an even better place to live. Check out the urban lifestyle with the laid back style of a bygone era.
